After a long journey from the north coast via every single village and back roads (thanks to our GPS) we arrived at our overnight accommodation rather late. Rosswood House was located outside of Donegal and poor directions made it hard to find. Luckily, some neighbours sent us in the right direction and we eventually found it up someone else’s driveway. Despite getting there, the house was grand and all ours for the night for the price of a reasonably cheap hotel room. With a washing machine and dryer we were able to wash 3 weeks of dirty laundry.
Rosswood House, Rossmore, Donegal...these were the directions, No street number, name or signs. Thank goodness for GPS coordinates!
After 3 loads of washing, we headed for Galway to spend the next night. Once we were booked into the Connaght Hotel in Galway, we went downtown for explore the town centre. Promenades of shops and restaurants had Christmas lights with lots of buskers singing, all of them really good. In fact, Ed Sheeran started off his career busking on the streets of Galway and later made his song Galway Girl and its video on the streets of Galway. The local department store had beautiful Christmas themed windows.

One of the shopping centres in the city centre has the original medieval walls of Galway within its complex. It seemed a bit degrading to have such a historical feature housed in the food court of the shopping centre as a feature wall.
Some Halloween is still lingering outside the Connaght Hotel. The pumpkins and cobwebs had disappeared by the time we returned from the city centre.
