Okay...it’s cold...in Reykjavik

Arrived in Iceland’s capital after a 2 hour flight from Edinburgh. Driving from the airport to the city on the bus, the landscape is rather flat and tundra-like..lots of grasses, basalt rock and moss - no trees or shrubs. Beyond the flat plains are snowy and volcanic mountains making the trip into Reykjavík very picturesque. The temperature on arrival was 5 degrees with a very chilly wind.

The international airport at Keflavik looks new and very Scandinavian in design. The welcome wall is full of superheroes with an information wall giving necessary information for tourists.

The Grand Hotel Reykjavík is very grand indeed! Our family room on the 2nd floor is spacious with a heated bathroom floor. The hotel also has a gym so Patrick is very happy.

Happy Patrick
